The Crafty Bandit is a digital content brand dedicated to the art of the "Page Portal"—highly detailed, illuminated miniature dioramas (also known as book nooks) that live on your bookshelf. We specialize in pop-culture-themed builds and cinematic process videos that show you exactly how the magic is made.

Bandit is our Chief Inspector (and a very good German Shepherd). While he lacks the opposable thumbs required for miniature sculpting, he oversees every project for quality control and provides vital morale support during long crafting sessions.

Yes! While some builds look complex, our tutorials are designed to break down the process into manageable phases—from structural assembly to the final "magic moment" of wiring the lights. If you can use a glue gun and a paintbrush, you can build a Book Nook.

While recommend our tutorials for ages 8 and up, we encourage creativity at all ages and find these tutorials excellent activities to do with an adult as well.

Most of our builds utilize accessible materials like a wooden box shell, sculpey clay, acrylic paint, and basic LED lights. Each tutorial video includes a specific supply list so you can prep your workstation before you start building.

Yes! For most of our builds, we use polymer clay like Sculpey. To ensure your characters and tiny details last a lifetime, they must be oven-baked according to the package instructions. I bake my sculptures in an oven safe pan with tin foil.
